Historic Charm and Booming Business
Downtown Terrell is full of history. Vintage lighting, wide brick sidewalks, and updated historical buildings with unique storefronts and architectural details create a vibrant turn-of-the-century Historic District. Downtown businesses are as unique as their character, ranging from restaurants, retail and offices to museums and specialty services. Special events are also hosted in downtown throughout the year. And for those wanting to fully immerse themselves into the downtown Terrell lifestyle, lofts are available.
With an ideal location along US Hwy 80, downtown Terrell draws in visitors and residents with its charm. More than $4 million in improvements have been made in sidewalk, landscaping, parking and lighting improvements with more improvements to come. For more than 30 years, shops and businesses have enjoyed and profited from their prime downtown location, with many other businesses following suit, taking advantage of Terrell’s unprecedented growth.
City and civic leaders continuously work to keep downtown a vibrant and vital part of Terrell through the Parks and Downtown Improvement Corporation (PADIC), which formed in 2019. Through its mission to improve Terrell’s quality of life and recommend capital improvements, the PADIC focuses on parks and downtown, furthering the city’s commitment to its Central Business District.
