The Terrell Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) is proud to announce that Carlton Tidwell, President of TEDC, has been named the Board Chair of Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas (WSNCT). With a career spanning nearly three decades in manufacturing, economic development, and community leadership, Tidwell brings a wealth of knowledge and a visionary approach to his new role.
Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas oversees workforce development strategies across a 14-county region, aligning training, education, and employment solutions to meet the evolving needs of employers and job seekers. As Board Chair, Tidwell will lead efforts to foster innovation, strengthen community partnerships, and create new pathways to meaningful employment.
“Growing up in rural Texas taught me the value of hard work and meaningful contributions to the community,” said Tidwell. “That work ethic has shaped my approach to leadership and continues to guide my commitment to workforce development. I’m inspired by the impact we can make—not just creating jobs, but helping people build lasting, fulfilling careers.”
After earning his degree from Abilene Christian University, Tidwell spent 26 years in the manufacturing industry, where he developed strategic and operational leadership expertise. His passion for building stronger communities led him into the world of economic development, where he served as President & CEO of the Terrell Chamber of Commerce for 14 years. In March 2024, he stepped into the role of President of the Terrell Economic Development Corporation, where he continues to champion growth and opportunity in the Terrell region.
As Board Chair, Tidwell will help WSNCT increase its focus on technology-driven training programs, education alignment, and community engagement—helping ensure that North Central Texas remains agile and competitive in a rapidly evolving workforce landscape.
“Carlton’s lifelong dedication to creating opportunities for individuals and strengthening communities is exactly the vision we need to drive this Board forward,” said Phedra Redifer, Executive Director of Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas. “His leadership will help ensure we continue to lay the groundwork for future opportunities by equipping individuals and empowering employers across our region.”
Tidwell’s appointment as Board Chair is a significant milestone for both TEDC and the broader region, reinforcing Terrell’s role as a leader in economic and workforce development across North Texas.
