Deep Texas Roots

Established in 1873, Terrell is a progressive community with deep Texas roots and American ideals. Many families have lived here for generations, and businesses have long found prosperity in our community. Terrell has the charm of a small town, embracing small-town values and a strong Texas work ethic while still being close enough to the DFW metroplex to provide access to the big city.

Our community is full of energetic volunteers, as well as service and civic organizations that are here for each other to ensure the continuing legacy of our city. In Terrell, you’ll find friendly neighborhoods, a historic downtown, and a variety of recreational activities that add up to a high quality of life for our residents.

The Fun Never Ends in Terrell!

There’s plenty of shopping to be done in Terrell. The community boasts a variety of shops, from the unique boutiques and specialty shops of historic downtown, to large national retailers at the Shops at Terrell outlet mall, Crossroads at Terrell and Terrell Market Center, which offer well-known retailers, popular dining options, major hotels, a theatre, and office space and apartments.

Residents can play outdoors in our five city parks that offer amenities such as baseball/softball fields, soccer fields, football fields, volleyball courts, basketball courts, pavilions, playgrounds, and trails.

Popular Terrell attractions include Film Alley, which contains a movie theater, bowling lanes, and arcade; Ham Orchards, which consists of 100 acres, five orchards, a bakery, pavilion, and farm market store; and the Thrillvania Haunted House Park at the Verdun Manor, to name a few.

Check out a live show or music performance at the Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center, home to the E! Terrell Entertainment Series, which provides interactive cultural performances from Russian Ballet to Classic Pianists, and Lake Country Jubilee, and the Silver Saloon, which hosts many big-name country artists.

Community events throughout the year provide ongoing family-friendly fun, such as the Annual Christmas Parade, 4th of July Fireworks, fun-filled Mark Hardin Memorial Air Race, and the Terrell Jubilee, a 4-day festival in April featuring a carnival, State Championship BBQ cook-off, arts and crafts exhibition, business and health expo, live music, a car show, the Fountain 5K Run, and more.

World-Class Schools
