TERRELL, TX –  March 20, 2024 – The Terrell Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Carlton Tidwell as its new President. With a distinguished career in both corporate America and Chamber administration, Carlton brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of leadership to the TEDC.

Since joining the Terrell Chamber of Commerce in 2010, Carlton has been instrumental in fostering growth and development within the community. He ascended to the role of President and CEO of the Chamber in 2016, demonstrating his commitment and innovative approaches to economic development.

Carlton's educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Abilene Christian University. His extensive career in corporate America spanned over two decades, holding pivotal positions at renowned companies such as Sara Lee, Maybelline, and Carlisle. This experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of business dynamics and strategic development.

A Certified Economic Developer, Carlton is also a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute of Management. His contributions to the field extend to his role on the board of regents of Southeast Institute. Additionally, Carlton is an active member of several prestigious organizations, including the Texas Economic Development Council, International Economic Development Council, and Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Carlton is deeply committed to his community. He volunteers for numerous local organizations, including the Terrell Rotary Club, Star Transit, Pride Rock Wildlife Refuge, and the Terrell ISD Excellence Foundation. As the Kaufman County representative on the North Central Texas Workforce Board, his efforts have significantly impacted the region's workforce development and economic prosperity.
